Design and manufacture of resolvers: a robust angular measurement solution for harsh environments
The resolver (also called synchro resolver) is an absolute angular position measurement device. In addition to its robustness, its main advantage over other encoder-type position measurement solutions is the absence of electronics and printed circuits. In fact, a resolver is made up of the same components as electric motors (magnetic circuit, insulation and windings), enabling it to be integrated into harsh environments where the limits of electronic components are exceeded (very low or very high temperatures). High-speed operation is also possible.
Our specific resolvers can be integrated with air gaps of several millimeters, or with fixed metal barrier between the stator and rotor. Our specific designs can also be adapted in terms of winding redundancy, supply voltage or number of pole pairs.
Adaptability and Performance in Constrained Environments
The mechanical configuration can also be adapted to provide, for example, a rotor with a sufficient internal diameter to allow the passage of a through shaft.
Our designs can also be adapted at the electrical interface level to ensure the best possible integration and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC perturbations)
The resolvers on which ERNEO works are solutions without rotor windings for integration in severe or highly constrained environments.
